Seventh National Report of the Republic of Belarus on the Implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity (2026)
The Republic of Belarus has submitted its Seventh National Report on the Implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity among 125 out of 196 States Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, thus confirming the fulfillment by the Republic of Belarus of its obligations under the Convention and the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. The periodic submission of national reports is part of the obligations set out in Article 26 of the Convention on Biological Diversity.

Polesskaya Population Horses
Published in 2025, the book explores one of Europe’s oldest aboriginal populations, which was formed under conditions of Polesie. Scientific materials and rare photographs reveal horses’ origin, their exterior and designation, as well as present-day challenges associated with their declining numbers. Particular attention is drawn to the role of Polesskaya horses in agriculture, sports, equine-assisted therapy, and environmental projects, as well as prospects for their conservation in the framework of national and international programs.

Intellectual Property in the Context of Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from Their Utilization
In this article, the author investigates the international and national legal framework regulating access to genetic resources and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from their utilization. The concepts of “genetic resources”, “utilization of genetic resources”, “genetic resources management”, “provider and user of genetic resources” (GRs provider and user), and the protection of intellectual property rights in the use of objects deriving from genetic resources are systematized.

Genetic Research in the Field of Biological Diversity
The National Strategy for the Sustainable Development of the Republic of Belarus covering the period up to 2030 brings to the fore the special role of biological and landscape diversity. Animal and Plant Kingdoms are indispensable components of agriculture and forestry, fishery, tourism, health care etc. About 27 100 species of living organisms are registered in the territory of our country, including 4450 plant species, 16 thousand of animals, 2 thousand of protists (single-celled) and 4800 fungi.
In 2024, the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On Genetic Resources Management” was adopted for the legal regulation of access to genetic resources.
