Checkpoint for monitoring the utilization of genetic resources of the Republic of Belarus

Traditional knowledge associated with genetic resources is analyzed in the context of the current socio-cultural situation in Belarus. This knowledge, skills and experience, which have an applied nature and develop in the form of an intellectual response to the needs of life, are transmitted from generation to generation and mainly verbally; are characterized from the point of view of the synthesis of two components: ideas about the surrounding nature and man in it and practical life skills in certain natural and climatic conditions.

The publication was prepared under the UNESCO project “Capacity Building for the Safeguarding of Traditional Knowledge Associated with Genetic Resources and Legal Regulation of Access to It in the Republic of Belarus” under the Participation Program for 2022-2023.
