On September 9, 2026, the Kunming Dialogue on collective progress achieved in implementing the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework held in support of the global review came to an end in Kunming, China.

For three days, representatives from the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, as well as indigenous peoples and local communities, young people, women and the scientific community, discussed the progress achieved, remaining gaps and potential solutions to facilitate implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework.

Special consideration was given to national goals and commitments, means of implementation, data and knowledge, and cooperation between the states and various stakeholders.

The outcomes of the Kunming Dialogue will be used during  the global review of collective progress scheduled for the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 17) in Yerevan, in October 2026.
