On 22 November 2018, Sanatorium “Ozerny” will host a workshop “Genetic resources of the Republic of Belarus: conservation and sustainable management” with the participation of the specialists concerned from Ministries, institutions, potential providers of genetic resources and their users. The workshop is organized within the framework of the UNDP-GEF International Technical Assistance Project: “Strengthening of human resources, legal frameworks and institutional capacities to implement the Nagoya Protocol in the Republic of Belarus” of March 30, 2018 No. 2/18/000874.
The workshop program includes discussion of the proposals being developed for the enhanced national legislation on access to genetic resources and benefit-sharing, as well as informing on the commitments of the Republic of Belarus under the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization and the project progress.
