Head of the National Coordination Centre on Access to Genetic Resources & Benefit-Sharing, E.N. Makeyeva, presented the report.

More than 30 representatives of all the Institutes of Biology Profile took part in the discussions held.  The matters related to the practical application of the Law were touched on, including the collection of biological material during trips, their transfer to third parties, simplified transfer etc. Particular interest was generated by the issue related to a change in primary agreement terms of genetic resources transfer and the management of digital information obtained as a result of deciphering nucleotide sequences.

In her closing remarks, Director of the Institute, L.E. Makarina-Kibak, expressed gratitude for active participation and draw attention to the fact that all legislative acts of the Republic of Belarus are important to be complied with. E.N. Makeyeva expressed her willingness to consult the colleagues on the Law implementation related issues.
