Japan ratifies the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization to the Convention on Biological Diversity on 22 May 2017

22 May 2017 – On the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity, Japan became the latest
country to ratify the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing
of Benefits Arising from their Utilization, bringing the total number of ratifications to 99.
